Reverence Retreat

About The Retreat

A 6-day, 5-night LIVE-IN retreat this September, Monday -Saturday.

Join and connect with like-minded souls on Sacred Land in a Sacred Healing Space located 2 hours inland from the Gold Coast in the Northern Rivers region of Australia, high in the misty mountains of the southern hemisphere’s largest volcanic structure (the Wollumbin volcano). Arcoora operates out of the former Vadjradhara Gonpa Buddhist Retreat Centre, a 20 min drive north of Kyogle, NSW, Australia. For more about the Venue visit Arcoora.org

reverence:
profound respect and love.

Reverence is a deep respect for Self, others and All things. A soul’s awareness and connection with the Divine.

Join us at the Reverence Retreat: an opportunity for internal transformation. Take a deep dive into your body-mind experience. Welcoming your humanity with understanding.

When you have a reverent attitude toward yourself, you honour and express gratitude.

During the retreat, attention is focused on the inner awareness of being, the direct way of discovering the unreality of the “I” thought. Starting each day with the offer of Yoga/Movement/Meditation, we then flow into breakfast, a 4-hour morning session,  2-hour lunch, a 3-hour afternoon session, dinner and then enjoy a 2-hour nourishing evening of sound healing, dancing, music, bodywork and other surprises to nurture you as you unwind for peaceful sleep.  Dive deep into the depths of your being. Come curious, Leave connected.

The Reverence Retreat will commence with a Welcome to Country by Uncle Andrew Johnston - CEO Gugin Gudduba Local Aboriginal Land Council.

About The Venue

Arcoora applies best practices in holistic land management and small-scale agriculture, transforming the former Vajradhara Gonpa and surrounding land and forest as a training ground for Earth Arts and Village-mindedness.

The spirit work that has taken place here resounds.

Arcoora Incorporated is a not-for-profit community organisation that listens to nature and shows respect for this place’s ancestors – past, present and emerging- by stewarding the former Vajradhara Gonpa and surrounding wilderness according to ecological principles and values.

Aligned with our predecessors and our devotion to this property as a sacred site, this event is drug and alcohol-free.

The existing infrastructure has been inherited from our Buddhist predecessors, originally developed by Siddhartha’s Intent Australia. The rustic buildings include the ‘Gonpa’ (temple), a large commercial kitchen and dining hall, dormitory accommodation for up to 25 people, several small cabins and a comfortable and modern retreat accommodation suitable for teachers and facilitators. The campground includes basic toilets and showers and can accommodate 40 campsites.

I am a bloke that was physically and mentally abused and then I did the same. I could shut someone down with the tone of my voice.  It is with a huge heart that I will sit with you. My vision is for more men to have a go. Nothing to Lose. Arohanui”
