Tammy Reid is a Teacher, Counsellor and Autism Advocate with over 20 years experience working with children, teens and adults on the Autism Spectrum.

Tammy Reid offers advocacy services for children and adults on the Autism Spectrum. This may involve attending meetings alongside individuals or family members to assist in building understanding in favour of the child/adult with ASD. This includes providing education to all members at the meeting to increase their understanding of ASD and the particular impact on the individual.

The goal of autism advocacy is to ensure a world in which people with Autism enjoy the same access, rights, and opportunities as all other citizens. Working to empower individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder to take control of their own lives and ensure their voices are heard in their school, their community, within their workplace and in all environments.

Tammy Reid has over 20 years of experience working with children, teens and adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Teaching for Autism Queensland from 2000-2006, Tammy facilitated family intervention programmes, and sibling groups and provided consultancy services to Regional Areas throughout Queensland as part of Autism Queensland’s Outreach Team for families in Remote Areas.
Invited by Education Queensland, Tammy accepted the role of an Advisory Visiting Teacher in ASD in 2006 and provided consultation for teachers in ASD across five (5) primary schools. Then worked as a Special Education Teacher teaching students with Autism in both Primary and Secondary Schools from 2006 -2012.
From 2013 – 2015 Tammy was Head of the Secondary Learning Support Centre at Coomera Anglican College on the Gold Coast.
Passionate about supporting families by the end of 2015, Tammy established ASD Approaches and moved into Private Practice as part of the Autism Gold Coast Consortium.
